Making an order form

Using a Google form or Microsoft form is recommended for tracking orders, as everything will be in one place. Orders placed won't get lost, they'll stay organized, and the best part is that they can be exported into an Excel document! Jotform.com is also a cool resource for making more complicated order forms!

You can download the order form export as an Excel file and build your full pop-up shop manager spreadsheet around it.

How do I use a spreadsheet?

It's a lot easier than you think! A spreadsheet is going to be essential for the success of your pop-up shop as it's the simplest and most straightforward way to organize order information. If you've never used Excel or Google Sheets, there are plenty of YouTube videos to teach you the basics. Here are a couple of good ones:

University of Iowa students also have free access to LinkedIn Learning. If you're interested in learning more about Excel, there are many courses you can take on LinkedIn Learning to help you use Excel!

Some of the basic things you'll need in your spreadsheet are the customer's name, their order(s), the price of their order, any customizations to be made, pickup/delivery method, and a way to check off once you've completed an order. You'll also want to make another page on your spreadsheet to track the cost of your materials and how much you use per order to accurately cover that cost.
